Review of 2009
My favourite site was the Old Oaks at Glastonbury because of the larges pitches with shrub screens either side making a very pretty site. The shower
rooms, although only a couple of them, made morning ablutions very pleasant. The fantastic setting of the site at the base of Glastonbury Tor helped
make this my favourite.

Only spending 1 night at Wareham Forest site meant we didn't use all the facilities but this would also be a nice site for a longer stay.

The position of Wood Farm at Charmouth made it very good for fossil hunting trips and we did have some lovely fish and chips on site!

Bingham grange was quite pretty and had excellent shower rooms, the best as far as I am concerned.

Bearsted was a bit disappointing being so open but we did see it in winter.

My favourite site was also Glastonbury as it is in a very central position for visiting Wells, Cheddar Gorge and other attractions. I also like the privacy of
the mature hedging and trees. Nice walks from the site as well.

Wood Farm was nice where we were overlooking the rest of the site and brilliant for Lyme Regis. The pitch we were allocated made all the difference
but I suspect at high season in the lower part of the site with kids playing could be a bit noisy.

Bingham Grange was quite nice and private although the parking bays were not as large as they could be.

Bearsted was in a good position, new and very clean but a bit disappointing just because it was so open with no pitch screening and no separate
shower rooms.

Tips on winter caravanning
To stop waste water freezing put some salt into the waste water container - using anti-freeze is not recommended as it contaminates non-main
drainage systems.

To prevent fresh water container from freezing stand on blocks off ground level - this is to allow the air to circulate around it. Because of the volume of
water there is no need to lag the tank itself but the pipe feeding the van would need to be lagged
