WiFi on pitch : NO

Cost was OK not too excessive for what was offered on the website. We arrived in the dark and needed to phone the park warden who was a pleasent chap on the phone, told us to stay where we were and he would come to us. He arrived quickly and wasjust as pleasent in person. He gave us a map to our pitch and the other usual bumf about the site.

We had a Super Pitch, Electric, water and drainage on pitch. Pitch size is OK for us but they are not the largest I have seen. In the site info it tells you that you should pitch with the hitch facing the road and your awning should also be only on the hard standing. Your car should also be on your pitch in front of your unit. I can see why. The road is quite narrow which meant that reversing your van onto the pitch was not easy even for an experienced driver like me…. (I do it for a living).

The pitches are staggered meaning directly in front of us is a patch of grass. and the pitches on the other side of the road are directly opposite the grass patch to either side of our pitch. This means that the area that you would naturally take up with the front of your car to reverse onto your pitch there is someone elses car already there! I ended up having to cut the corner across the grass which turned out to be very soft the offside wheel of the van sank quite alarmingly.

Whoops

Halys went for a shower this morning and came back frozen. There was No Hot Water!! I decided to give it a miss and just stink today….lol. Anyway I went to the loo later and tested the showers in the mens and the hot water was fine.

There is a heck of a lot of work going on on site and it currently looks like they are removing the grass camping area in favour of statics so the site could become tourers and statics only unless there is an area we have not seen.

We did bring swimming costumes but as i am streaming with a cold I think it’s best if I give that a miss.

Overall the site was OK we probably could have saved money and booked somewhere with less facilities as we didn’t need them.
We went into Southport on Saturday which was about a 10-15 minute drive away, as you can imagine in March there was not much going on but the sea was actually in!

The Sea was In!

When chatting with some other campers on Sunday morning while emptying the loo they were complaining that the showers had been constantly cold and that they had been told there was a fault that had been fixed, obviously not.
The ELSAN point also lacked a tap to allow you to clean the toilet cassette which meant you had to take the cassette to the pot wash area where there was a tap on the wall.

We would consider going back but I would like to see the site when the work is complete and I would hope that they sort out some drainage on the grassed areas next to the pitches as it was very soft!

Some more images from around the site.
