Finally got to go Camping!

Ok so New Year was our last camping trip…. Boooo! Talk about withdrawal symptoms.

We have been refitting the kitchen along with a new dining room/kitchen floor all while working full time. It takes a lot of time! We finally finished well nearly. It all functions and is workable. I still have to finish the tiling and decorate but that’s not too bad right?

So we managed to have a “planning” session with Mick & Michelle. They came to ours for dinner a few drinks and stayed over. Ok so not much planning was actually done, but we had fun doing it. We also decided that Easter weekend was going to be a camping weekend for certain.

We decided to join our local DA at Southport.

Mick & Michelle arrived on Thursday morning and managed to bag 2 electric pitches so when we arrived about 7pm we got set up and plugged in and built the Cadac for a burger tea….. Oh and a few drinks.

Their Grandson Freddie was with us and proved to be very entertaining.

What an Easter weekend? Record temperatures, good company, and what a location for a THS?

Victoria Park in Southport is right on the seafront, by the Splash Zone (swimming pool) and fun fair. The towns main shopping street, Lord Street is a little over 5 minutes walk as is Southports famously long pier. It has to be long as the sea almost never comes in at Southport leaving miles of open beach which used to be used as a car park.

If you didn’t know that Victoria Park is actually a public park you would think it was a campsite. The only thing missing was toilets and showers….. No problem for us in caravans but the park is laid out so well as a caravan site that the addition of a couple of facility blocks would add an all year round income for the local council. The site is 34 acres and we had a turnout of over 300 units on the Saturday Night.

The video above shows how far the site and the caravans stretch.

A Cadac breakfast. You can’t beat it.

Ice Cream & Chips. What’s not to like there?

Flying the Flag. Our pitch.

Fab weather, fab company what’s not to like?

Oh yeah the bank holiday traffic on the way home!
