Half Term in Tier 3

Well it’s half term and we should be in Cornwall! instead we are in Rainy Bury.

Tier 3 means that you can not stay overnight in another location, well one outside of your local area. We live in Greater Manchester so we are limited to Greater Manchester. So the Caravan and Motorhome Club site at Burrs Country Park in Bury it is. Other than a 5 van site at Heywood I think it’s the only site inside Gtr. Manchester.

The draw for this site is the East Lancs Railway which runs along the site boarder and club members get half price on the train. Also the Brow Cow pub which serves some excellent food.

As the name suggests this site is in a country park which means there are some lovely walks along the river as well. And who could forget the world famous Bury Market, well me actually because I don’t really like it.

So we were meant to be in Cornwall where we would have visited The Eden Project, Lands End, Perranporth, St Ives, Mavegissy, Porth Kernow…..etc……. So now what do we do in Bury.

So far we have been to Asda and restocked the Cocktail Cabinet, eaten a kebab that was left over from the fridge at home (waste not want not) seen a Steam Train and a Diesel Train go past.  We are here until Wednesday. It’s windy and raining so I’m either going to empty the cocktail cabinet again or I suppose I should find something to do around Bury!

In tier 3 we can’t even go and visit the sister-in-law who lives in nearby Rochdale, (What a Shame! 😀 ) hehe!
