We stayed at the Caravan & Motorhome Club site Bourton-on-the-Water.
This is a no frills site with no on site facilities, No toilets, No Showers you will have to use your own. So the no No:2 rule lots of people have for their caravan loo is a non starter here!
there is EHU, Elsan & Fresh Water of course. There is a mix of Grass & Hard Standing pitches. In a quiet location about 5 miles outside of Bourton it makes for a very peacefull stay. The wardens are friendly and now operate a small shop which is Cash Only. Check in is the new Automatic type with the ANPR enabled barrier. So easy no need to bother the warden, however we did get a very warm greeting on arrival and every time we left or arrived back at site.
The view over the fields at the back of the site is very nice and you can often spot deer in the field.

We were looking forward to wandering around some of the beautiful Cotswolds villages, however we had chosen the hottest week of the year & the hottest May days ever recorded to visit (good thing our new van has AC). The crowds were insane. The first evening we drove into Bourton, there was no parking spaces & no space on the grass by the river. The river was full of kids & adults paddling to cool off!

We took a ride to Dalesfords.
The most expensive Farm Shop we have ever visited, but last time we were there we bought some delicious hot chocolate. They didn’t have any this time so we came away empty handed… my wallet was relieved!
We made use of our National Trust membership with visits to Upton House & Chadworth Roman Villa.
Upton is packed full of artwork.

Chedworth Roman Villa has some marvellous mosaic floors on display

We also paid a visit to Twekesbury & it’s Abbey

Whilst in Twekesbury we visited the Cotswolds Designer Outlet for some retail therapy & so I could get a suitable present for Halys’ birthday. She choose 2 pairs of Adidas trainers. Got herself a Linen top & I got a couple of T Shirts from Weird Fish. We also decided to buy a new set of pans for home.
It was a short but packed visit & we did a fair bit in just 5 days.
