COVID -19 Isolation?

We are currently in the grips of a worldwide Pandemic. This is the most deadly virus to hit the word in my lifetime. It’s the most deadly because we currently do not have any medication or vaccine to fight it. People are being told to stay at home, pubs, clubs, restaurants, converts, public events all closed and cancelled. Schools have been ordered to close. People have been ordered to work from home if at all possible. Mrs CA is working from home and is classed as a vunerable person.

So what am I doing?

I’m still working, driving my truck delivering and collecting pallets.

“That’s hardly essential work” I hear you cry. Well it is really you see almost all goods are transported on pallets. We deliver pallets to food manufacturers, chemical manufacturers etc… Without those pallets they can not ship their products around the world.

One of our customers makes the ingredients for hand wash and hand sanitizer, they are producing as fast as they can as we need all the sanitizer we can get.

Key workers, there are lots of key workers you find in a situation like this, previously someone you possibly regarded as a low skilled minion is now your saviour. The supermarket shelf stacker may not require a degree to do their job but right now they are an absolutely vital key worker.

I’m sure most people who are still out working, still coming face to face with other people to do their jobs would much rather be safe at home with their loved ones. I know I would!

So maybe a smile, a quiet thank you wouldn’t go amiss next time you meet one of these key workers.
