Smiths Green Farm C.S.

Smiths Green Farm

We arrived here almost by accident. We were due to attend a C&CC rally at Betley Village Hall but when we arrived we found a quite overcrowded car park and a field that we didn’t like the look of, so we left and hit the apps Mrs. CA on one club’s app and me on the other.

Mrs. CA found Smiths Green Farm a Camping & Caravan Club Certified Site. A Certified Site is exclusive to members of the club and is allowed to host upto 5 caravans or motorhomes and upto 10 trailer tents or tents. A total of 15 units.

Smiths Green Farm was about 4 miles from the rally location.
On our arrival we were greeted by the farmer at the gate who had come out to make sure we could see the sign. We handed over £20 (the same cost as the rally) and the farmers son showed us to the camping area.
The site has been open about a month and we had the place to ourselves.

There is a hard standing area and a grass area we were told to pitch anywhere. There is a couple of fresh water taps, an elsan point and a couple of bins, one for recycling and one for general rubbish.

The site has Livery for 60 horses and they are your neighbours as the camping area is right next to some of the paddocks. The horses didn’t seem to mind us being there. Everyone dealing with the horses and the farmers family were friendly and chatty.

The site is a little off the beaten track but not difficult to get to but there are some narrow country roads. Not too narrow. The site is not far from J16 of the M6 and is a great base to explore North Staffordshire and Cheshire. On our visit we went to Bridgemere Garden World.

This is a site that we will return to
